Revisiting Books from Adolescence Part 1

Now that my son is reading books The Chronicles of Narnia, a series of books that really pulled me into reading fantasy (and helped turn me into a lifelong bibliophile), I've decided to revisit many of the titles that were influential to me as a young reader.
As time permits I will review some of the books that I've finished recently and how my perspective has evolved in the twenty-five years (give or take) since I read them first. The years have not always been kind to the books I once thought canonical.
